Rail links

Shrewsbury's 167-year-old train station is situated in the very centre of the town, below Shrewsbury Castle. It is serviced by trains from around the UK, with many services to Wales starting at or passing through Shrewsbury station -- it's for this reason that the station is known as the 'Gateway to Wales'.

Birmingham, Manchester or Chester are all accessible by a rail journey of an hour or less from Shrewsbury. There are regular services between Shrewsbury and London via Birmingham.

Plan your journey with West Midlands Railway and National Rail journey planner.

There is a taxi rank at Shrewsbury station, and the town centre is less than a 5 minute walk from the station doors. The bus station is less than 5 minutes stroll from the station, ideal for accessing Shrewsbury's business parks and wider area.

Through the Big Town Plan, plans are underway for the development of an additional 'parkway' train station outside the town to improve Shrewsbury's already excellent rail links.

Travel by car

Shrewsbury is connected to the rest of the UK by the M54 / M6 network, or the A49, A5, A53, A458 if using A roads.
