Work in Shrewsbury (WISH) is a project of Shrewsbury Business Improvement District (BID).

It's a movement to showcase the benefits of Shrewsbury as a place to work and do business, capitalising on the things that make our town great to grow inward investment and increase skill retention for our creative and vibrant town.

WHAT DOES WISH INVOLVE?

– Central to the campaign is our new website, which is the hub for a range of information, including case studies, job opportunities and engaging videos and images showing Shrewsbury at its best.

– Alongside that, we are installing eye-catching branding around Shrewsbury and further afield to raise awareness of the campaign, and we're hard at work on a prospectus to be shared with investors and businesses outside Shrewsbury to encourage them to invest in this area.

– Our WISH project aims to attract new investment but also nurture the talent we already have through a range of activities, including masterclass sessions when highly-respected experts will come to Shrewsbury to share their expertise with businesses.

– We are also excited about the creation of a core ‘cohort’ of people who will receive extra support and funding to develop their own business ideas - applications will open soon for those interested in taking up one of the 20 places available.

If you are considering establishing a new venture, expanding your business or opening a new branch, please get in touch with the WISH team and we will point you in the right direction and provide support where possible.
