Summary

We are seeking a Site Manager to oversee operational activities at our healthcare facilities in the United Kingdom. Based in GB, this role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high standards of patient care, and supporting our mission to put people in places to care.
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational management of the Trust’s multi-site estate, including all building and engineering systems, roadways, footpaths and grounds. Ensuring that these are maintained to the appropriate NHS and statutory standards to deliver a high quality care environment for the Trust’s and Shropcom communities, staff, patients and visitors.
  • Has overall responsibility for the provision of an efficient, effective and safe patient focused planned and reactive maintenance service, within the allocated budgets, using Directly Employed staff and Contractors, through the development of suitable operational plans and maintenance programmes, Ensuring contracted work is procured and delivered to appropriate governance standards and specifications.
  • Leads the on-going development and continuous improvement of the maintenance and repair services within his/her remit, and undertakes Authorised Person duties as required, in areas such as Specialised Ventilation, Medical Gases, Decontamination and Water Safety
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and development of local operational plans and work programs for the estates maintenance function, which support the Trust’s business plans.
  • Contributes to the agreement and implementation of service and financial objectives for the areas under control.
  • Monitors the performance of the estates operational maintenance team against its agreed objectives and is responsible for taking corrective action where necessary.

Qualifications

  • Professional knowledge in an engineering/building services related discipline acquired through degree or equivalent plus specialist technical knowledge gained through post-graduate courses and experience to masters equivalent level.
  • Detailed understanding of requirements of HTMs and HBNs and all Professional Standards relating to Estates Operations.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislations and requirements of working within a built environment – CDM regulations and IPAC requirements.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body (IMechE, CIBSE, IET, IHEEM etc) Evidence of previous Health and Safety Training, such as by satisfactory completion of the BOHS P405 ‘Management of asbestos in buildings’ or IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Specialist training, such as that required to hold the position of ‘Authorised/Responsible’ persons under the Department of Health’s Technical Memorandum (HTM)
  • Working in a similar role within an Estates team. Demonstrable experience of having managed senior teams, operational budgets, and multiple construction or refurbishment projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading teams and budgets in an Engineering/Operation Arena
