Risk Manager

Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to support the organisation part time for a six-month period, 2 days per week. This is a key role helping to strengthen our risk management arrangements, improve reporting, and support senior leaders to identify, assess and manage strategic and operational risks effectively.

A current member of the Institute of Risk Management and / or Association of Local Authority Risk Managers. The successful candidate will bring strong experience of risk management, governance and assurance within a local government environment. They will work closely with senior leaders, Statutory Officers and relevant boards or committees to maintain clear risk oversight, support horizon scanning, review risk registers.

This opportunity would suit someone who can quickly build effective working relationships, provide practical advice, and deliver clear, proportionate reporting. The assignment is offered for six months.
