Our client a privately owned British manufacturing company are looking to strengthen their environmental management practices by hiring an Environmental Administrator.

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an Environmental Administrator with a strong background in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and quality management. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and ensuring our client's adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. A background in chemistry (A-level or above) is highly desirable to support material assessments and environmental impact evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ISO 14001 Compliance: Maintain and update the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 standards, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Environmental Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and records are maintained.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor environmental legislation and ensure the company remains compliant with relevant laws and industry standards.
  • Waste & Resource Management: Support initiatives to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and manage hazardous substances responsibly.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyse environmental data, including energy usage, waste generation, and emissions, preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Training & Awareness: Support the delivery of training and awareness programs to promote environmental best practices across the company.
  • Quality Management Support: Assist the Quality Dept in maintaining standards, documentation, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Supplier & Contractor Liaison: Work with external suppliers and contractors to ensure environmental standards are met throughout the supply chain.
  • Chemical testing and recording on our Powder Coating lines and Degreaser.
  • Assist Quality Dept with inspections of powder coated components.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (essential)
  • Background in quality management (desirable)
  • Educational Qualification: A-level (or above) in Chemistry or a related scientific/engineering discipline (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience with auditing and environmental reporting
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external regulatory bodies
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong IT and data analysis skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
