Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organised Community and Event Manager to oversee the planning and execution of a variety of events across our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of event delivery, ensuring positive experiences for service users and guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your hospitality, organisational, and communication skills within a vibrant environment. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in guest services, hospitality, or related sectors, with a keen eye for detail and excellent time management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all elements of event planning from inception to completion, including venue selection, logistics, and vendor liaison.
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring all arrangements adhere to client specifications and safety standards.
  • Upsell additional services or products to maximise revenue opportunities during events.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments.
  • Manage budgets effectively, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-efficiency throughout the planning process.
  • Supervise on-the-day event activities to guarantee high-quality guest experiences.
  • Handle guest services professionally, addressing any issues promptly and courteously.
  • Organise schedules efficiently to meet deadlines while managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Assist with fundraising activities where applicable, contributing to organisational growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event management within the hospitality or related sectors such as restaurant or hotel industries.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of liaising confidently with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability in upselling and enhancing guest or client experiences through effective sales techniques.
  • Proficient time management skills to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in fundraising is also desirable but not essential.
  • A professional attitude with a flexible approach to work hours as required by event schedules.
