Young Enterprise: Start a Bakery with Sophie, The Good Egg Bakery

Sophie always knew she wanted to run her own business. She'd managed hospitality venues, she loved baking, and eventually she took the leap, opening The Good Egg Bakery in Shrewsbury town centre.

The Good Egg is a micro bakery on a mission to make good cake using local, seasonal ingredients. Sophie makes cakes, pastries, brownies, custom celebration cakes and more, alongside a coffee offer that she's quietly built into something worth going out of your way for. In this session, she'll talk through what starting a food business actually looks like, the decisions, the practicalities, and what she wishes she'd known at the start.

You'll also get to have a go yourself. There'll be a baking activity as part of the session, so come hungry.

This session is part of Young Enterprise Shrewsbury, funded by the Million Hours programme. Open to 15 to 18 year olds only. Five places available.
