Information

The Tumbledown Hotel / Albion Bar is in the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter. The original historic building began life as the 'Albion Inn', and was constructed to replace the old 'Fighting Cocks' public house across the road, demolished in 1847 to make way for Shrewsbury Railway Station.

The old pub was bought in 2018 by St Annes Brewery and has been restored and strengthened with a steel subframe to support many features of the old building, re-employed materials from the 'Albion Inn'. The bar construction incorporates original Napoleonic ships timbers used in the roof of the Inn.

The refurbishment of the Tumbledown Hotel allows full wheelchair access to all areas of the pub and a disabled toilet. The bar retains an authentic traditional pub feel, with darts and dominos teams. Dogs are welcome. A large open space has a corner stage for karaoke on most Saturday nights, live music on Sunday afternoons with periodic drum & bass events on Fridays or Saturdays.

The Tumbledown Hotel stocks award-winning beers, a full selection of ciders, spirits and beverages with food options.
