Shrewsbury artist heads to New York for Saatchi's Other Art Fair
Cherie Jerrard has been a familiar face on Shrewsbury's art scene for over a decade, running the Drawn Collective and supporting local businesses and organisations (including Work in Shrewsbury!) with her distinctive illustrative style.
Now - following a successful launch of her latest body of work at Birmingham's Seventh Circle Gallery in Birmingham - she's taking it stateside to Saatchi's famous Other Art Fair, an annual launchpad for lesser known artists.
Saatchi's boundary-pushing art fair takes place in some of the world’s major cities, with each fair featuring hundreds of emerging artists and enabling them to connect with the public and art buyers - an incredible launch pad to the global art world.
In exhibiting at the Brooklyn edition this month, Cherie will have the opportunity to reach an entirely new audience.
About the work
Clowning Around brings circus characters to life in urban environments alongside peeling paint, weathered posters, and the textures of metal, concrete, brick and wood. They are both gritty and humorous, bold and vulnerable. Spot them bringing life to unusual canvases around Shrewsbury.
