Indulge with Shrewsbury's vegan eateries

Shrewsbury's town centre is home to a number of 100% plant-based eateries. From taste bud-tingling ramen to mouth-watering jerk jackfruit – you're sure to make your tastebuds happy at one of these Shrewsbury eateries.

Kanu Poke

Shrewsbury's newest plant-based eatery, Kanu Poke is a Pacific fusion restaurant, passionate about big flavours whilst remaining 100% vegan and gluten-free. From hot plates to poké bowls, tropical desserts to cocktails, all items are lovingly made in house, and many available for takeout.



Okra is a plant-based, street-food haven. With fresh, flavourful vegan street food, Okra has a core lunchtime menu of five items with weekly seasonal additions. Breakfast is served until 11.30am, whilst fresh smoothies are available throughout the day to satisfy your appetite.

The Greenhouse Cafe

Hidden away in a bright and airy first-floor restaurant, The Greenhouse Café offers a selection of vegetarian and vegan cuisine for eat-in and takeaway. Their menu is an ever-changing, seasonal selection of salads, quiches, pasta and rice dishes.



Itadakizen has health and well-being as the central ethos of its cuisine. With its sister restaurant in London considered to be one of the capital's best vegan restaurants by Vogue Magazine, Itadakizen is an experience not to be missed. Rice, root vegetables, seaweeds and soya beans are recurrent ingredients in their dishes, which Itadakizen deem essential for a strong metabolism.


Plantkind Falafel

Opened in 2017, Plantkind Falafel is one of Shrewsbury's longest-running plant-based eateries. Their freshly prepared salads, soups and falafel have developed a loyal following, and for good reason.



Former CSons head chef Luke Gregory is behind 100% plant-based eatery Nooch. Passionate about local, seasonal produce, the menu is bursting with dishes from around the world, all given a vegan-twist.
