Job Information

We're currently recruiting a Technical Lead to join a growing team at a successful Facilities Management and Building Services company based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Job purpose -

Providing technical support to engineers, staff and clients surrounding all aspects of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and Mechanical works carried out in a client focused setting. Ensuring work standards meet and exceed regulatory guidelines following the continued growth and expansion of the business unit with support to Small Works, Building Services and Facilities Management.

Main Duties -

1.1. Providing support and advice to employees and clients on all technical issues relating to mechanical & HVAC

1.2. Carrying out technical audits on sub-contractors and field engineers ensuring they are working to regulation standards and meeting company expectations

1.3. Ensure company meets compliance standards by monitoring, managing and reviewing the necessary certification requirements under current regulations (F-Gas, Oftec, Gas Safe, Water Regulations, Building Regs)

1.4. F-Gas register & F-Gas Register compliance supervision and ensuring all regulations and compliance is in line with industry expectations

1.5. Attending client meetings on site to discuss new and on-going works

1.6. Providing accurate and value for money quotations for new and on-going works

1.7. Assisting with all planning & invoice queries relating to HVAC & Mechanical works

1.8. Assisting with the development of staff by identifying skills gaps and supporting individuals in gaining the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to carry out works competently

1.9. Ensuring the company’s compliance to REFCOM, Oftec and Gas Safe standards

1.10. Supporting with interviews & onboarding of new engineers and ensuring required qualifications are in up to date

1.11. Carrying out in-house training and refresher courses to staff to ensure all expected standards are met on a consistent basis

1.12. Travelling to various site locations (UK) to provide technical and practical support to engineers

1.13. Producing robust reports of a high technical standard for colleagues and clients.

1.14. Supporting the appointment and auditing of sub-contractors.

1.15. Ensure that the company is compliant with legislation and qualifications.

1.16. Carrying out general administrative duties relevant to the role

These are illustrative duties. The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work within the company as the needs of the business grow.

Working Relationships - Field Engineers, Contract Managers, RFMs, Building Services & Small Works Department, Operations Director, Procurement & Supplier Relationship Manager & Team, Service Delivery Manager & Team

The successful candidate will have the following:

· Relevant technical experience of a similar role (Essential)

· Driving Licence (Full UK) - Essential

· Trade specific qualifications (desirable)

· Manufacturer training on HVAC Systems / Mechanical (desirable)

· HVAC / Mechanical qualifications (installation, maintenance) - desirable

· Heat Pump Qualifications (desirable)

· Refrigeration Qualifications / Training (desirable)

· Site experience of five years’ minimum carrying install and / or maintenance works on all aspects of HVAC / Mechanical works (Essential)

· Site experience on building services covering all aspects such as electrical, Gas, fire alarms (desirable)

· Experience of working with remote field teams (desirable)

Knowledge & Skills -

· I.T Literate, work with MS office products (essential)

· Commercial understanding of business (desirable)

Working Hours and other info:

· 40 Hours, Monday to Friday - 8am till 5pm

· The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel, available out of hours to provide support when needed, willing and able to work outside of working hours when required
