Job Information

This is a permanent position offering 30-40 hours per week. The position is based at Bird and Beer.

We are seeking a versatile Hospitality All-Rounder who can seamlessly transition between front-of-house and kitchen duties to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is predominantly a front of house role but we’re looking for someone that can turn their hand to kitchen work when required, to cover holidays etc.

Front of House:

  • Customer Service: We’re passionate about serving incredible food in an even better atmosphere. You will take pride in providing your customers with an exceptional experience. Greet and welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude. Handle customer inquiries, take orders accurately, and provide menu recommendations.
  • Seating and Serving: Assist with seating guests, serving food and beverages, and attending to customer needs promptly.
  • Cleanliness and Presentation: Maintain a clean and organised dining area, including tables, floors, and restrooms. Ensure that all areas are presentable and up to restaurant standards.

Kitchen:

  • Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and cooking menu items according to restaurant standards.
  • Cooking: Operate kitchen equipment and fryers to cook and prepare fried chicken and other menu items. Ensure food is cooked to perfection and meets quality standards.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace. Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and storage of food.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient service and high-quality food.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry is required and a willingness to learn and adapt is key.
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Multitasking Ability: Capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of our small, friendly team.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of food quality and service.
